What we are thinking about

The Error Framework

When something goes wrong, GSCG locates error, not failure. Error decomposes across three sources — Evaluator error (unclear expectations, a vague brief, a moving standard), Situational error (constraints and…

Performance and growth are the same thing seen from two angles.

A business school trains craft well. Finance, analytics, strategy, communication. What it does not train directly is the mind and the body, and those get left to chance outside the building.

We make that training direct. A student who is growing at a high level is a student performing at a high level, and the two are not separable.

But you cannot be only developmental. You need a real thing you are trying to get good at, because the pursuit of that thing is what makes the growth real.

So we run two missions at once: develop the student, and deliver quality products to the sports industry. Neither serves the other.

What the work actually is

The business of sport. Marketing, partnerships, ticketing, fan experience, data analytics, digital audits. Explicitly not on field or playing strategy, which is a boundary we hold on purpose.

For students

You arrive with qualifications and then test them against real work. You will fall short in certain ways. Those gaps are not the failure of the position, they are the growth the position exists to give you.

How we think about growth

For partners

A student team, a faculty director, one key objective, and a semester. If you have a business of sport problem worth a team of analysts, that is the shape of the engagement.
